Easy Agile Programs Third Level Hierarchy
Easy Agile Programs is a powerful PI Planning tool designed for Agile development teams. This tool helps teams collaborate, track, plan and visualise large complex projects involving multiple teams with interdependencies.
The addition of a third-level hierarchy was the most requested customer feature at the time, making it a crucial enhancement for Easy Agile Programs. The Product team, recognising its importance, collaborated with me to deliver this highly sought-after feature.

The Problem
Easy Agile Programs needed a third-level hierarchy to better manage and visualise complex projects. This was the top-ranked request from customers, reflecting the critical need for enhanced organisational capabilities within the tool. The challenge was to integrate this feature without overcomplicating the existing structure or overwhelming users.
The Approach
To tackle this challenge, I began by conducting customer interviews and product research to accurately define the problem. I then assembled a small, focused team and initiated a design sprint aimed at brainstorming and sketching wireframes for a simple yet effective solution to add the third level.
Following the design sprint, we produced high-fidelity mockups in Figma, which were then presented to stakeholders. Through this process, we determined that the third level was only necessary on the Program Board and not on the Program Roadmap, which allowed us to reduce the scope and focus our efforts more effectively.
Through interviews we heard the third level was not required to be seen on the Program Roadmap
The Results
This project was a significant learning experience for me. Being relatively new to the Agile world, I relied heavily on my team to share their expertise in Agile methodologies and product knowledge. This collaboration was instrumental in delivering a valuable solution for Easy Agile customers.
The design sprint proved to be a powerful tool for quickly understanding the complexities of the project. Working closely with the product owner, product manager, and both senior and junior developers, we successfully integrated the third-level hierarchy into the Program Board. This feature remains active in the product today, enhancing the user experience and meeting the needs of our customers.
Reflecting on this project, I am proud of what we achieved as a team. We successfully delivered a much-requested feature that significantly improved the functionality of Easy Agile Programs.
